Recreation Minister

David Maki, First Baptist’s new Recreation Minister, came to us from Ohio with his wife, Tori and their young son, Matthew. David has been serving in Recreation Ministry since 1995 after accepting God’s call into ministry in late 1994. He describes his years in ministry as “wonderful” years reaching people for Jesus.

David, an energetic and determined leader, wants the Christian Life Center and its Recreation Ministry to reach the community’s fitness and sports needs, but, more importantly its need for Christ and for Christian friends. David is well equipped for that task with his many years of experience and the education he's received with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Program Administration in Recreation received from the University of Memphis in 1996.

David’s favorite Bible verses are
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
“Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings”.
