Greg Aldridge

Greg was elected to serve as this years Deacon Chairman after serving as Vice-Chairman in 2007. He was ordained in 1983 at First Baptist Church Jasper, Alabama. He also served as deacon and charter member of North Shelby Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama prior to moving to Fort Walton Beach.

Greg and his wife Elena joined First Baptist Church FWB in 2002. He teaches MA 02 Sunday school and serves on the Personnel Committee.

Greg and Elena were married in 1976 and have one daughter, Stephanie Goodin who lives in Tallahassee, Florida.

Greg is employed at First City Bank since 2001 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Elena has worked with abused and neglected children for over 30 years and currently works with Families First Network of Lakeview Center.

Greg enjoys golf, fishing, physical fitness and painting.

One of Greg’s favorite Bible verse is…Deuteronomy 6:5 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”
 

Chuck Spangler

Chuck was elected to serve as this years Deacon Vice Chairman after serving as Secretary in 2007. He was ordained in 1985 at First Baptist Church, Gainesville, Florida.

Chuck, his wife Mary, and family joined First Baptist Church FWB in 2004. He teaches the SA 01 Sunday school class, serves on the Kitchen Committee, helps with the children’s choir and sings in the adult choir.

Chuck and Mary were married in 1986 and have three daughters, Cammi (15), Bryce (8) and Bailey (5).

Chuck is employed by the US Air Force since 1993 as an architect and currently works at Hurlburt Field. Mary is Air Force active duty and serves as a Judge Advocate (JAG) for AFSOC.

Chuck enjoys basketball, softball, flag football, coaching, videography and wood working.

One of Chuck’s favorite Bible verses is…Philippians 4:6…
”Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” (Paraphrased “Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything.”)

 

Gary Wilson

Gary was elected to serve as Secretary for the Deacon Body this year. He was ordained at First Baptist Church, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He has served as an active Deacon each year since being ordained, and has served as Chairman in the past.

Gary and his wife Shirley joined First Baptist Church FWB in 1970. He currently is the outreach leader for MA-01 Sunday School Class and serves on the FBC/FWB Operation Outreach function as the Sunday School outreach representative.

Gary and Shirley were married in 1958 and have three children (Randy, Lori and Brad). Also, they have five grandchildren.

Gary retired from the USAF in 1991 after 35+ years of military service and then from his final job as a Defense Contractor at Eglin AFB in March of 2007. He is currently a volunteer member of the Children in Crisis, Faith Community Committee.

Gary and Shirley enjoy walking at the mall or Turkey Creek most days.
