Mission Statement
The Senior Adult Ministry of the First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach exists for the purpose of honoring God through programs, trips, ministry opportunities and providing an atmosphere of fellowship, growth and caring for the needs of its members, unchurched and other senior adults in our area.
PrimeTimers
Life is satisfying as you enjoy your retirement, spend time with your children and grandchildren, and develop your hobbies and interests. But it can be frustrating as you stop working, lose friends, and search for ways to continue making a difference in the world.
We're here to help by providing opportunities for service, a community of friends, and a place for worship and fellowship. You'll discover that your time and talents are needed, your wisdom and willingness are valued, and your experience and expertise are important to us. The Senior Adult Ministry of First Baptist Fort Walton Beach is all about life.
Philosophy/Goals
Worship, Fellowship, Service, Friendship, and Family. Those are the things that we work to build in the Senior Adult Ministry at First Baptist Fort Walton. We feel that these can be the best years of your life--the "Prime of Life." We want to assist you in being all that God wants you to be.
Whether it's learning a new angle on a favorite Bible verse or on the go with our traveling group, you'll easily understand what all the excitement is all about. With dedication to the Lord, the Senior Adult Ministry is on the move and we want you to come along.
If you are interested in becoming a part of our Senior Adult ministry, or if you have questions about it, please contact me,

Minister's Welcome

Welcome,

You are invited to be a part of a dynamic group of experienced adults known as the PrimeTimers at First Baptist Church.

We are a loving, caring fellowship which desires not only to minister to each other, but through each other to reach out to others.  There are many opportunities for enrichment, fellowship, and ministry involvement.

May God richly bless you as you find your place of involvement and service.

Senior Adult Ministry Vision

To honor God through the programs, trips, ministry opportunities, providing an atmosphere of fellowship, Christian growth, and caring for the needs of its members, the lost and other senior adults in our area; to declare His love to the generation to come.

Scriptural Guideline

"One generation will commend your works to another, ..."

Senior Adult Ministry

Nurturing and caring for Senior Adults involves Sunday morning Bible Study, events, trips, and ministry opportunities that include:

  • Monthly luncheons are held on the 2nd Friday of each month which includes an inspiring program.
  • Luncheons are held in the Fellowship Hall at a cost of $5.00 per person.  Reservations are required and can be made in Sunday School or by calling the church office.
  • During the year we have several Day Trips of interest to Seniors.
  • Senior Adult Fitness Classes are held each Monday and Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in the Christian Life Center.

Homebound Ministry

The purpose of the Senior Adult Homebound Ministry is to maintain regular contact with those who cannot attend Sunday School, worship services, other activities and to minister to them in Jesus name.

Visits are made on a regular basis and remembrances are sent on special days (such as birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc.).  Needs are identified and reported to Senior Adult Minister.  Meals are prepared and delivered to homebound members on special occasions.  Special remembrances are delivered during the Christmas season.

Monday Morning Ministry

This ministry is made up of volunteers who meet at the church each Monday at 8:00 a.m. and perform, as needs arise, various maintenance tasks around the church.  they also assist those in need of wheelchair ramps, moving, home maintenance and various other needs.  If you have a need in this area or would like to volunteer in our Monday Morning Ministry please call Wes Yates at the church office.

If you are interested in becoming involved in our Senior Adult Ministry or have any questions, please contact me.
