Tim Clearman
Director of Recreation Ministry
Tim Clearman has been the Director of Recreation Ministry here at First Baptist Church since May 2010. He loves the Lord, loves people and believes that there is a great opportunity to reach the world through the ministries of Recreation.
He received Christ into his life as an early teen. His desire since then has been to serve the Lord and to be obedient in all that He calls and leads him to do.
Tim received a BA in Religion and a BA in Church Recreation from the University of Mobile, in Mobile, Alabama. He received a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
God has used Tim in unique ways through Recreation Ministry since 1986, and he brings an abundance of experience to First Baptist Church. For over a year, Tim served in Ar Ramadi, Iraq as a Recreation Coordinator in Morale, Welfare and Recreation. He served as Minister of Recreation at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama. Prior to Dothan, he served as Recreation Specialist for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Fort Worth, Texas. While attending college, God began using Tim in Recreation Ministry as he served at Moffett Road Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama.
Serving beside him for over 32 years as wife, mother, and number one supporter of his ministry is his sweet wife, Vickie. They have two adult daughters, Amy and Lori. They also have two grandsons.
Tim’s favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 10:5b, “…we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”
